Very little about my life has followed the traditional path, and I like to think that's why I love the work that I do so much. As a child, I grew up on a sailboat with my family and was homeschooled on and off for many years. When I was 20, I packed myself a 40L pack and backpacked through South America for 6 months, adventuring deep in the Amazon jungle and volunteering at various wildlife rehab centres (I LOVE animals and will always make their welfare a priority). These are some of the moments that have been peak-existence experiences that really changed my life, and made me look at the world the way I do. I truly believe that life is more about experiences than things, and remembering that we're only here for a short trip always reminds me to say yes to the new adventures - even if they're a little scary at first.
